These easy air fryer carrot fries are a delicious and healthy snack or side dish! They’re like potato or sweet potato fries but with carrots. They take way less time to bake than traditional potato fries, and they get super crispy.

The key to making crispy carrot fries is tossing them in a drizzle of olive oil, and the cornstarch. The olive oil helps the spices and corn starch stick to the carrot sticks, and the corn starch is essential for getting a crispy exterior, much like in my tofu wrap recipe!

These healthy carrot fries are made with minimal oil, for a low calorie snack. Carrots are also full of nutrients and are quite filling!

How to make carrot fries

To make baked carrot fries, toss the carrot sticks in the oil, spices, and cornstarch. Space them out on a lined baking sheet, and air fry them at 400°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway.

What do carrot fries taste like?

Carrot french fries taste like a sweeter, fresher version of regular potato fries. Seasoning the carrot fries adds a bunch of flavour! I like a mix of cumin, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder for a warm savoury taste.

How to cut carrots for carrot fries

You’ll need about 1cm wide carrot sticks for carrot fries. Here’s hot to cut carrots for carrot fries. First, peel the carrot. Place the carrot in front of you, horizontally. Cut the ends of the carrot off and discard. Cut the carrot in half, the same way you cut the ends off, so you have 2 shorter round pieces.

Then cut each piece in half the long way. Place the carrot pieces on the cutting board, flat side down so they don’t roll around. Cut each piece into 3-4 sticks, depending on their width.

What to dip carrot fries in?

Carrot fries go great with a number of dips or sauces! Try my Vegan Garlic Aioli! Or go for a chipotle mayo, by mixing regular or vegan mayo with chipotle hot sauce.

Any mustard based sauce works well with the fries too! Honey mustard, maple dijon sauce, or sweet and spicy mustard.

For some freshness, dip the carrot fries in my Vegan Tzatziki.
