This iced chocolate latte is creamy and rich in dark chocolate flavour, perfect for both coffee and chocolate lovers. Using a milk frother ensures the most silky smooth chocolate latte.
Prepare hot, strong coffee however you normally make it, or make espresso. The coffee must be hot enough to melt the chocolate. At least 140°F-160°F (60°C-70°C). The coffee should be quite strong as lattes are normally a 1:3 ratio of coffee to milk.
Add the hot coffee and melted chocolate to a glass and whisk or froth until smooth and combined. If the coffee isn't hot enough, the chocolate may solidify. Microwave in 10-second intervals to heat if needed. Add 1-3 teaspoons of sugar if you like sweeter coffee.
Add ice cubes to a glass and pour the chocolate coffee mixture into it. Pour as much cold regular or frothed coffee cream or milk into the coffee as you'd like.
Optionally, sift cocoa over the top to garnish.
Notes
Lattes are normally a 1:3 ratio of coffee to milk. Make sure to use strong coffee or espresso.Depending on the chocolate you use, you may need to adjust the sweetness of the coffee. I usually don't drink sweetened coffee, so the dark chocolate adds the perfect sweetness for me.The coffee should be at least 140°F-160°F (60°C-70°C) to ensure the chocolate doesn't solidify while mixing.
