Homemade pizza dough topped with garlic butter and mozzarella cheese, baked until melty and browned, then generously sprinkled with Italian seasoning. This homemade Italian cheese bread is the perfect appetizer or side.
Preheat the oven to 400°F/200°C and lightly grease an 8x8 baking dish. In a small dish, combine the butter and garlic.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, or in a large bowl, combine the yeast, sugar, water, and olive oil. Then add the flour and salt, mixing on medium speed, or by hand, until a rough dough forms.
Mix on low speed, or knead by hand, for 5 minutes, until a smooth dough forms. The dough is ready when it bounces back after pressing your finger into it.
Press the dough into the prepared 8x8 pan. Spread the garlic butter on top of the dough and top with the shredded mozzarella.
Bake for 25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and the sides are browned. Once removed from the oven, top with Italian seasoning. Allow to cool for 5 minutes and then slice.

Notes
Knead or mix the dough until it bounces back when you press your finger into it.I recommend only using mozzarella cheese as it melts and browns the best compared to other cheeses.Use a generous amount of Italian seasoning.
