Creamy, flavourful French onion dip made with vegan sour cream and loaded with caramelized onions. This vegan onion dip is so easy to make and perfect for snacking and meal prep.
340milliliters vegan sour cream(1 container, I use Earth's Own)
2teaspoonslemon juice
1teaspoonvegan Worcestershire sauce
1teaspoonminced dried garlic
½teaspoongarlic powder
2teaspoonsdried chives
salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
Heat the olive oil over medium-low heat in a stainless steel or cast-iron pan. These types of pans are best for caramelizing. Add the onions and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently to evenly brown them. Then cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft, jammy and a deep brown colour.
Set the onions aside and allow them to cool.
In a mixing bowl, add the vegan sour cream, caramelized onions, lemon juice, vegan Worcestershire sauce, spices, and dried chives. Mix until just combined.
Serve immediately with chips or veggies, or place in the fridge until ready to serve. The flavours will only intensify the longer it's in the fridge.
Notes
Cook the onions over medium-low heat until soft and brown. The low-and-slow method is best for caramelized onions.This dip is great for meal prep and making ahead, as the flavours intensify as it sits in the fridge.
