This recipe takes the classic White Russian and adds a delicious holiday twist with eggnog instead of cream or milk. It’s a great cocktail to unwind with in the evening or can be served in a pitcher for a holiday gathering.

A White Russian cocktail is made with even parts vodka and coffee liqueur, mixed with cream or milk. In this holiday themed drink, we’re using eggnog instead of cream! I used Califia Farms Holiday Nog.

What to mix with eggnog?

Eggnog is a creamy holiday drink and is an amazing ingredient for creamy cocktails. Eggnog can be mixed with bourbon or whiskey for a simple cocktail or used in classic creamy drinks like White Russians.

How to make a White Russian with eggnog

To make this eggnog White Russian recipe, add vodka and coffee liqueur to a glass with ice, then add the eggnog. You could also make a large batch in a pitcher if you’re hosting a dinner party or gathering.

Substitutions

  • You can use any brand of coffee liqueur.
  • A typical white russian cocktail is made with a 1:1:1 ratio of vodka, to coffee liqueur, to cream, but you can make it whatever strength you like.

Instructions

  • Chill your vodka in the freezer. Because of the sugar content in coffee liqueur, it will freeze slightly if stored in the freezer.

Fill a glass with ice.

Store the vodka in the freezer. Due to the sugar content in the coffee liqueur, store it in the fridge.
